The most important activities of Serbian Association for Criminal Law and Practice

Department for Rule of Law and Human Rights of OSCE Misson to Serbia received Association's Golden Award.

Serbian Association for Criminal Law and Practice awarded The Department for Rule of Law and Human Rights of OSCE Mission to Serbia with a special Golden Award, as a sigh of special recognition for long term cooperation, professional work and contribution to functioning, affirmation and international cooperation of the Association.

Romana Sweiger, Chief of the Department received the Award at regular annual scientific conference that took place on the mountain of Zlatibor in Serbia. She expressed OSCE's readiness and willingness to continue to support the reform of criminal procedural law and enable the exchange of experience among this region's legal experts.

While discussing full implementation of new Code of Criminal Procedure, that is about to enter into force on October 1st, she emphasized that serious challenges should be expected. However, she pointed out that these challenges can be overcome through a more intense exchange of experience and consultations among colleagues. Special Courts and Public Prosecutors have been applying the Code for about 2 years and have obtained a significant and valuable experience.

Regular annual Conference of Serbian Association for criminal Law and Practice is taking place from 12. to 15. September and numerous national and foreign experts in theory and practice of criminal law are participating as well as guests and partners from International institutions. The Conference and the editing of Collection of Conference Papers are supported by the Ministry of Justice and State Administration, the Ministry of education, science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia , OSCE and Judiciary Academy.
